EY and the Financial Inclusion Forum are delighted to invite you to a discussion of how technology is enabling new data-driven and digital solutions that are expanding access to finance in the United Kingdom and beyond. Building on insights from EY’s Innovation in Financial Inclusion report, the conversation will move to open data, digital passports, and alternative credit scoring and currency digitisation in a European context. The panel of industry leaders and subject matter experts will guide us through the hype and reality. The speakers joining us are:

  • Emma Bickerstaffe,  has recently moved on from her role as Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff for the CEO of HSBC UK, to follow her passion of creating a more inclusive financial system. Working in partnership with The Big Issue, her current initiative seeks to remove barriers to banking and provide 6m financially excluded people in the UK access to basic banking services. Emma spent 10 years at HSBC where she held a number of Global, Region and Country positions focusing on Strategy and Transformation. Emma helped the bank navigate the fast paced internal and external environment, and consider the impact of change on colleagues, customers and communities. She has a keen interest in innovation including emerging technologies, agile working practices, and their impact on traditional business models. Prior to joining the bank, Emma worked for a Management Consultancy in Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organisational Psychology, and a Masters of Business
  • David Tracy, who serves as Chief Data Analytics Officer at Castlight to ensure its products leverage the latest data science techniques and to create innovative new products to help lending institutions and consumers take advantage of the opportunities afforded by open banking, by giving them the tools they need to make better financial decisions. David has also worked widely across the UK and Europe’s insurance sector at Kwik-Fit Insurance, Ageas and Tesco Bank.
  • Ian Hossack, who is the CEO of The Change Account and has 25 years of experience in retail banking. Before joining The Change Account, Ian was the CEO of Oblong Cards, Sales Director at Tuxedo Money and Head of Partnerships at HBOS Plc. • Hamish Thomas, who is a Partner with EY Financial Services Advisory, leads the EMEIA Payments practice, and is Chair of the EY FSO Blockchain Working Group. He is focussed on working with clients to understand both the opportunities and risks presented by the changing environment and balancing the two.
